They were picking on me at work again today. About the fact I spent 4 years in college, decided I hated my major and now work at VIP. They seem to think if I was going to end up working some low paying job I should have just skipped the college step.

Occasionally it bothers me, the whole college and now have a semi-crappy job thing. But not really, it's just kind of embarrassing when they pick on me about it. In front of customers.

I'm not working in an environment that remotely uses my major...that is French! Yeah, who's brilliant idea was that? Granted I'm going to go to grad school eventually for international studies/education/relations. Hmm. But for the moment, I'm content with where I'm at in terms of a job. I really lucked out, let me tell you! You missed that crazy saga of me applying for my current position. Basically, they initially didn't want to interview me because I screwed up a few things on my cover letter and resume. But, obviously, I lucked out through perseverance.

Graphic Design, cars whatever. Although lately I've been regretting not following my dream, which was to be an artist. At least then I could be all I went to college for 4 years, but it was for art so shut up about me working here. But no I had to try and be smart and study something that was more marketable.

I hate job hunting so I can commiserate. I went on exactly one interview for a graphic design position, and they never even called me back. Every other place sent me regection letters. Which lead to me working for Wal-Mart, then VIP and occasionally doing free lance web design. But I'm probably a lot happier than I would have been if I'd gotten that one job I interviewed for, I'd be less broke, but my creativity would be dead by now doing phone book ad layout.
