psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (zen pirate)
I feel all accomplished and stuff. The litter box has been cleaned, the chinchilla and degu cages have been cleaned. The ash tray on the wood stove has been emptied and I hauled in fire wood. \o/

Although the chinchillas made a break for it when I was trying to get them back in their cage. I chased them both around the living room. Fortunately the cats were scared of them. And Rockband tried to jump into the TV screen. Which was pretty funny. And at the same time, crap now I've got to catch her again. Landing on the floor seems to stun her just enough she's then easy to recapture.

It's actually pretty nice out today so I have a couple windows open letting the wind blow threw.

Now I should probably fill out that Wal-Mart application. Or put some more stuff up on etsy. I'm probably more likely to bond with my couch for a while. And maybe eat something. I'm sort of hungry.

So the chinchillas chewed a hole in their water bottle, I noticed it earlier today, and have finally got the hole sealed. Now they are making weird noises at each other and fighting over who gets to drink. Which makes me feel like a bad chinchilla mom because it's possible it was empty for a day or so before I noticed based on the level of fighting over the water. Or they could just be that obnoxious.

Well I've finally gotten the house to the point where I no longer feel like I'll freeze. However I'm leaving in about half and hour. And who knows when I'll be back. Sometime in the wee hours of the morning. Or maybe not until tomorrow. If I can find a couch to sleep on. [livejournal.com profile] annikasevn, who I talked to today finally, seems to think I should try and get the band to sneak me in to the show tomorrow. Or tell them I'm the merch girl or something. I on the other hand am not forward enough to ever suggest that. The whole sleeping on a couch thing probably wont ever be mentioned.

I really wish the chinchilla's hadn't been so rowdy last night. Despite being in bed by 2 I didn't get to sleep until after 3 because they kept rattling the cage and jumping around and being really really noisy. I did sleep until almost 11 which almost made up for it.

Or at least Lemur is. She or Rockband do this at least once a day.

watching a chinchilla wedge their nose are far through the bars of their cage as then can the stick out their tongue in an attempt to get a hold of something just out of reach.

The chinchillas are sleeping all curled up together. It's really very cute.

Lemur has figured out how to climb up and down the tubes and thus gets around just fine. Rockband doesn't understand the concept and spends a lot of time leeping about and frequently missing her intended target. Thusly Lemur is like the top floor rocks, and Rockband is like wot iz this top floor? I can haz second platform from bottom?

Seriously it's been a while since I saw Lemur lower than the platform under the top one. I know she can get down, I watched her do it earlier. She's clearly hidng from Rockband for the moment.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
I can.

And we've even put it together. The question will be if chinchillas can use the tunnels since it started it's life as a ferret cage. Also discovered it's more like a $300 cage than a $200 so my paying $100 makes it an even better deal.

I went downstairs to play with the chinchillas and the degus a little because I feel bad. In the trailer they were in the room next to mine so I walked past them all the time and stopped to pay attention to them a lot. Now there at the other end of the house and one the first floor. With me spending most of my time in my room they don't get as much attention as the used to.

So I played with the chinchillas, then tried to pet the ever skiddish degus. Who where made more upset by Rockband's insistence that she must go visit. They were calmed with blueberries. Then Rockband got jealous. First she was just trying to reach though the bars to the plastic lid that is in between the cages. I just keep ignoring her. The she started to pull on the cage bars, hard enough to shake the whole cage. So I opened the door and she came barreling out and jumped on top of the cage. When I got to close she grabbed the bridge of my glasses and managed to pull them off my face even though I grabbed them. Admittedly not as tightly as I could have, but still. So I threaded a piece of blueberry bush through the roof of the cage. Hopefully that'll keep her entertained. I'm not to worried about Lemur, she'd climbed in the hammock and appeared to be getting ready for a nap.

Okay so taking the chinchillas out while wearing a shirt with fake studs glued on it is a bad idea. Lemur almost managed to rip on off before I got her to stop. And I don't think gold colored pieces of plastic would be good for her digestion.

Yes those are my chinchillas. And yes that is me talking in stupid voices while narrating. Please don't laugh at me to hard.

Rockband *wants a snack*
Lemur *has found her trwu wuv*

Seriously she followed Rockband around all evening trying to lay on top of her. Yes I know it looks like humping, but it really wasn't. She just wanted to lay on Rockband and cuddle. It was hilarious. Rockband seems traumatized by the whole thing. She mostly just sitting in the corner of the cage, not moving. Should probably take Lemur out for awhile so she gets a break from the spazy that is my first chinchin.

Sooo....

I was fiscally irresponsible today. And bought another chinchilla. Which I named Rockband Annabelle Cristie. Because I was going to call her Annabelle Cristie, but when I called the roommate and told her to guess what I'd bought her first guess was Rockband and her second was a chinchilla. So far they seem to be getting a long, I must keep an eye out to make sure they don't pee on each other because them getting wet is bad. Thus far all is well.

Okay me and chinchilla face are going to have words. She's chewed holes in two water bottles...today!!!! Not cool. I don't get it. She's got a hanging thing with hay, she's got chew toys aplenty and a card board box to play with.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
I have a chinchilla on my shoulder and she wont go back in her cage. This could be a problem.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
So because I'm a winner like that I went back to bed and slept until 11. Oops? Now I'm up and dressed and going to go into town as soon as I can run out to the car between rain showers. My hair is cute I do not want to ruin it. /girlymomment.

In other news Lemur was really cute earlier. She always wants cuddles in the morning, which I can't provide because normally I'm running around getting ready for work. So when I got up at 11 and she was still awake I was like I shall let the chinchilla out and then she will get cuddles. Which was all fine until I decided I wanted a shower and she decided the best way to express her displeasure at me trying to put her back in the cage was by biting my fingers. No this does get cute, really. So I've finally got her in the cage, if perched on my hand. She bits my thumb really hard, I go to bring my hand out to see if she'll let go then. She jumps off my hand, I pull it out and go to she the cage. She runs out of the cage up the door and takes a flying leap at me. Completely trusting I'm going to catch her little furry ass as she didn't actually get a grip on me. It was cute, really. She got more cuddles then back in the cage. With no more bitting even.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
I think Lemur is finally deciding I'm an okay person. She usually still awake when I get up in the morning. As soon as I go into the den she runs up to the second platform in her cage. When I open the cage to feed her she wants to come out for cuddles. Which doesn't really work so well because I usually have just about enough time to get myself ready for work with out stopping to play with her. But now she's getting so she'll come out in the evening too. Actually the problem is her staying in the cage. Not that she can let herself out. She just stands there and looks all cute and I open the door and she come out and then she wont go back in the cage without some coaching. I wish I had a place I could let her run around some, but between piles of junk and curious cats and dog it just isn't going to happen.

Sleep soon I think, but not until after more painkillers. Need to remember to buy my own so I stop liberating the roommate's.

I feel bad for Lemur, and all the other pets for that matter, but mostly Lemur. It's 80 in here now. She's got lots of fur. Currently she's sort of sprawled in her hammock, which is in the path of the air from the fan. And I stuck a home made ice pack thing under it so there is cold on the bottom of the hammock where it's touching. At least I hope there is, that's what I was going for when I came up with the idea.

I'm leaving in a little over an hour. Heading down to Aubrun to go to the movies with the wishes-he-was-my-boyfriend. Yay for AC in movie theaters.

I'm not really happy about this summer stuff. I know it happens every year but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
Ahahaha chinchilla face just found a pair of my roommates earrings. I'm sitting on the chair watching TV with Lemur running around on me and the chair. I glance over as she makes several frantic jumps from the back of the chair to my shoulder and back, and notice there was something in her mouth. The roommate had evidently left a pair of hoop earrings, hooked together, on the back of the chair. And Lemur found them and was running around holding them. Luckily she let go when I grabbed them from her.

She's now in her cage again because after that Lex got a little to frisky with the trying to get her and managed hit her hard enough to make her squeak. I liked it better when he was so afraid of her he ran away when she moved towards him.
psghayleaux: a cat sleeping on top of a cat tree (chinchin)
So this morning I go to feed the fur balls. Predictably, the degus are spazing out and running around rattling the cage door until I feed them.

Less normal is the fact that Lemur is awake, and sitting by her food dish. Which is nearly empty. So I put food in the dish. But that's not what's awesome. She then climbed up my arm and out of the cage. All on her own, no me trying to coax her out. And that's really cool, I've only had her just over two weeks and she's already decided that hanging out on her person is cool. Last night actually she didn't want to go back in the cage and I ended up having her out for half an hour or more.
