I win, or something. Just hooked up a connector thingy to the TV so that the DVD player signal runs through the antenna. So no more unplugging and replugging stuff to watch DVD's, and this has the added benefit of stereo sound from the DVD play. The right speaker plug on the back of the TV is dead. So the VCR will still have bad sound cause thats attached though the ports on the TV. Mom wont replace said TV though because other then that it works fine. Also in the convolutedness of our TV set up the antenna goes from the VCR to the connector thing to the TV. Ahaha, we are so stone age.
