The degus can be quite amusing at times. Alexander always tries to get out if you open the cage. The male baby tries it sometimes. And is much easier to catch. The female baby is tricky to catch sometimes. I usually don't bother Hephaestion cause she freaks out so much. Any who if I can get the babies out they crawl all over and have fun. Putting them back in the cage is the trick. I open the door and Alexander climbs out, then babies will go in, but then they will both try and climb out again. So there I am trying to close the door with three degus clinging to it and trying to climb over the top edge as it goes up. The babies only do that after they've been out. Otherwise if they do climb on the door they don't climb out on to me and tend to run back in if I move towards them. I'm going to miss the baby that goes, and Alexander even with all his faults. Probably going to let mom's friend have them as class room pets.
