Hephaestion = the worst nest maker ever
Sep. 24th, 2005 01:35 amShe might know where the three remaining babies are. But at the moment she seems pretty intent on covering them up in tissue and wood shavings. Though she's managed to drag all the tissue to one place then spread it all over the cage, the drag part of it back to the nest. There is a nest box in the cage. I wanted to make sure she'd have a safe place to put the babies. But no, shes ineptly building a nest in the corner of the tank I usually fed her in. Allow me to roll my eyes at this. Gerbils where much better at nest building and baby watching. Degus don't mind if you handle their young, which is good, because I've had to move babies back to mom a couple times because they wandered off, or she moved them and forgot that she had.
So cute, so necrotic.
