The male degu let mom hold him. My step-dad wouldn't hold one though, and he called them rats, but not in a mean way. Have also discovered that if I want them to go back in the cage all I need to do is get them close to it so they can jump back in, no trying to get them off my shoulder required. This makes things a little easier.

Stupid degus are going nuts. They keep throwing the wheel about their cage. And freaking out at everything, including the noise their water bottle makes when they drink out of it. Little weirdos. Really should officially give them names. Pudgy and Half-Ear just aren't doing it for me as names.

edit: I give the stupid furballs tons of this to chew on, what do they try to chew? The metal wheel. I should be used to this the gerbils did the same thing. And now they are fighting, or trying to mate, or trying to force grooming, I'm not sure.
