May. 20th, 2012 03:13 pmSo I'm going to have a garden this year. Not huge, but something. At this point I'm waiting for the landlady to try and rototill the spot for me. There are so many rocks I spent like 3 or 4 hours digging up the edges of where I wanted it and then digging up the whole thing to get the rocks out. Like 5 bucks of rocks out of an area thats like 5x3.5 ft at most.
I bought a big bag of garden soil last night to add to it. Not that the soil around the rocks seems that poor. I dug up a large number of worms in my de-rocking. And the landlady has a friend who's got some composted dirt that she's going to try and get a wheel barrel full for me as well. So as long as the roots don't mind some smallish rocks, pebbles even, this garden of mine might actually do something.
I've got 2 started tomato plants from my mom, more started potatoes then I'll need from one of my manager, and some spinach and carrot seeds. Plus flower seeds. Zinnias and Morning Glories and Moonflowers. Things I'm not allergic to but look nice. I'm going to try and get the Morning Glories and Moonflowers to climb the small trees behind the garden area.
And also hope that T. will keep an eye on things for me while I'm out of town with my grandmother. At this point he'll mostly just had to make sure the tomatoes don't dry out.
