Gah

It is still almost 80 in my room. And probably in the whole house. So not cool.

Sleeping, I think, will not be so easy.

I'm thinking that taking Dad up on his offer of an air conditioner would be a wise idea. The roommate and I are thinking that maybe if we set up two little ones in the living room and kitchen we might be able to cool off the house. Otherwise I'm putting that sucker in my room. 40$ fan be damned.

Am awake way to early on a day off. But I slept like crap last night anyway. To hot and humid.

We have all the window fans off at the moment and all of the other fans running, so at least the air is moving. Although I'm thinking maybe I should get another fan, if the degus have my desk fan blowing on them I don't have one for me.

We are a sad house hold today. The cats are both sprawled out on the floor, near to each other, but not touching and the dog is laying stretched out in front of the couch I'm on.

Although it is nice that the humidity has gone down somewhat.

We don't have an ice cube tray so I've been using the cooler core from my water bottle. It looks weird, but it works. Looks kind of gross in pink grapefruit juice though.

Spent a while at the roommate's mom's house, she has AC it was nice. But I'd had enough so I'm home, and sitting on the deck since it's cooler outside now. And jury rigged phone connections are great, since it means I have a long enough phone cord to reach the deck.

Although it's thundering so I don't know how long I'm be on-line. I did bring my car keys out with me in case it starts raining. The windows are open cause I have to go in to work this evening for a meeting and I'd like it to be less than sweltering in it when I leave.

And the roommate just came over and got her car. We live like 50 feet down the road from her mom and she doesn't want to walk that far in the rain. Me if it starts raining I'll probably be on the lawn dancing. Probably the back lawn, but still.

The sky's are darkening and the thunder's getting closer. I'm thinking very strongly about rain at the moment. Mom told me it's the thought more than the actually rain dance that counts. This all came up when we were on the phone just now.

Poor Lex. He is not cool with the heat. Earlier he was panting and just now he was laying hanging off the couch. He looked like he was dead actually.

So the high for today was 108. OMG no wonder I spent the whole day feeling like I was going to melt. Tomorrow's listed high is like 81, which sounds really really nice to me.
